Thirty-five years ago, Paul Kleinkopf of the Village of Amelia, picked up a paintbrush and taught himself everything about the art form. He said it just came naturally to him, and he has the paintings to prove it. Kleinkopf creates copies of famous works, like his painting of Jacques-Louise David “The Intervention of the Sabine Women.”
Kleinkopf has 135 paintings hanging on his walls. His house is a gallery featuring close to exact copies of the works of Monet, Renoir, Michelangelo, Van Gogh, Picasso and many other famous artists. “I always liked art,” said Kleinkopf, of the Village of Amelia. “My motto was, ‘If the masters can do it, then why can’t I?’ and I went a step further than that and said, ‘Maybe I can even improve the great masters.’ Kleinkopf's commissioned portrait works are one of a kind and as impressive as the work from the masters themselves. |
